VEGE first introduced a gearbox programme in 1995, the test market was the UK, since then the range has been developed to cover almost every major European marque. VEGE’s extensive exchange remanufactured gearbox range covers almost all 5 & 6-speed manual transmissions in the car & light commercial sector.
From Audi to Volvo and most marques in between, front, rear and most recently, four-wheel-drive gearbox applications are all catered for.
As with VEGE remanufactured engines & cylinder heads, the process begins with the disassembly of the donor (core) unit which is stripped back to component parts for cleaning, grading & inspection before our trained engineers begin the skilled process of reassembly.
Any part failing our rigorous inspection is automatically discarded and replaced. All bearings, seals & gaskets are completely replaced with new, standard practise in a remanufactured VEGE gearbox. Continuous engineering & on-going improvements ensure known weaknesses within the original transmission can be overcome with our own modifications and upgraded parts.
Once remanufactured our gearboxes are professionally re-painted and packaged in a bespoke carton ready for transport to the customer.

Installation Advice
We strongly advise that our products are only fitted by authorised, fully trained mechanics in garages or workshop that have the necessary skill-set & equipment to carry out the work.
Top Tip: VEGE recommends that when you change the gearbox you always fit a new clutch, in the long term this will save money for the car owner.

Warranty
VEGE products are available for purchase through selected VEGE Distributors only – we do not retail to the end user.
Our warranty is expressly business to business, its terms should be discussed with your local distributor.
Top Tip: Incorrectly adjusted or worn gearshift linkages and cables can create gear selection problems which give the impression that a gearbox has an internal fault.

Core Return
VEGE has developed a fast, efficient exchange system – core is the raw material of our trade, it keeps our production moving.
To return an exchange item simply:
Drain off oil remembering to replace drain plugs
Place your old unit in the packaging provided and repack in exactly the same way as your new product arrived.
