The clutch flange is dimensioned so that all commercially available single-, two- and three-cylinder diesel engines of upright type up to 33 HP power can be fitted. The drive shaft fits the Fichtel & Sachs Mecano clutches K 16, G-22 and G-30. To compensate for clutch wear, a clutch adjustment facility is provided on the clutch pedal hub.

The 5-speed manual transmission allows a more economical use of the tractor than it was previously the case with the 4-speed transmission. The gears and shafts are made of the best case-hardened stainless steel and are a feature of the best ZF tradition. Due to its design and favorable gradation, it is particularly easy to shift, so that even the inexperienced driver can cope well with it.

The rear axle is combined with the gearbox in a common housing to form a single block. Its transmission consists of a bevel gear with curved teeth and a spur gear. The differential can be locked. This prevents one of the rear wheels from slipping in the event of unequal friction between the ground and tires. A spring-loaded foot lever is provided for actuating the lock, which allows the lock to act only as long as the lever is operated.
